“If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.”
Running the Disney Marathon requires focus. There are many temptations along the road to distract you. Just a few steps away are fabulous rides, amazing food and medical tents for your aching body! If you allow the temptations to take you off course for very long you are in danger of not finishing the race. Your goal is to finish the race not to leisurely eat, ride attractions, or buy souvenirs!
I no longer run marathons but I still exercise. I made a one degree change in my goals. Now, my mission in life is to “Run The Race That Counts”. It’s amazing how one degree change in your goal setting can altar your life in a significant way.
When I want to quit, give up or step away from my mission focus I am reminded of my direction. My new goal in life gives me a focus point and keeps me on course.
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 3:14
Are you determined to run with focus? Do you know where you are headed? Are you tempted to run off course?
Father… It’s easy to run off course and get caught up in the distractions and obstacles of life. Help us to “press on” with the unique calling that You have created in each one of us. Lead us to life coaches that encourage us to to stay on track.
